Have any of you replaced the brakes on a kubota m4700, I've ran out of adjustment on them so it's time to replace them. Is this a job that I should let Kubota dealer do or tackle it myself. I'm a decent mechanic with plenty of tools. I've never messed with tractors so I'm at a loss on it.

Hello
This is not a real hard job. A service manual would help. If you look at the parts brake down it will help you see what you are dealing with. Once the tire and fender are off it will be pretty straight forward.Drain the oil ,remove the brake linkage unbolt and remove the axle. Put the lug nuts back on and stand it on end so it is easy to work on .You will want a cherry picker to remove the axle. It is heavy. Good Luck Lance

There is some heavy parts to be moved around, but it's not particularly hard. I was a kubota dealer tech for a while and did a few of them and don't remember out of the ordinary other than the weight. That said, be sure you have good lifting devices (jacks) that will lift high enough to get the wheels off of the ground. Then the wheels/tires-if they are fluid filled, you will want the help of 2 or 3 helpers. Jack stands are a must, and perhaps cribbing if your stands won't go high enough.

Did you replace your brakes yet? Serviced my M4700 today. And found brake liner material in the fluid when I drained it.
My Tractor only has 802 hours on it. Bought it new in 1999. Used the right brake to swing around with the Disk last week. And brakes made a sound. So guess I will find out how tough of a job this is.
