Our LX2610 has at least three drain plugs with I'm guessing copper crush washers. There is no mention of replacing them every time, which I what I tend to with a car. Am I asking for trouble if I anneal them and resuse them? I don't know what size they are at the moment, but by next time around I will, and will probably pick up some for future use. I can order some but may need to do a servicing before they arrive.

I must be lucky, I've replaced less than half dozen in my life and they were to replace washers either lost or 30 years old.

Those seals should not harden as you should not be putting that much force on them.

My little guy has metal washers with an integral oring. Tighten to snug, never replace unless the oring is damaged, which near impossible to do. Very tidy method.

I don't ever replace those washers.

Washers used on brake caliper banjo fittings, different story.

Could there be correlation:unsure: between damaged washers and reports of stripped threads on drain plugs?

I haven't replaced any on my tractor. I do have one or both in a drawer should I need them.

Don't recall if both have a replaceable seal.

Don't recall motor oil or HST drain plug, but one or both were like $7? each from Kubota!?!

I've never replaced mine although I do have a couple spares on hand.

Thanks, all. When I see what I've got I think about whether I want to do anything other than get some spares from Kubota. Wish I lived closer to the dealer than an hour and a half, especially when it comes to needing some super UDT2 fluid, which I'm using while it is under warranty. It would seem it generally cheaper from the dealer.
