I have a exhaust leak on my l5740 what kind of job am I looking at or should I take it to the shop?

The front
The front between engine block and exhaust manifold
Your exhaust manifold to the cylinder head gasket has failed, so the manifold will need to be removed. You will also need to remove the turbo, its oil supply, and return tubes, the air hoses, the muffler, the EGR cooler, and its pipes, some brackets, and a coolant hose.

It's a rather involved operation, although not hard to do, it will take some time.

Those bolts/nuts make it look like a "smoke wrench" may be required.

I agree...unless there's a broken exhaust stud...or, you break one taking the manifold off...
Been there, done that.

If the manifold is held on with nuts (not bolts), I'd see if you can get a nut-cracker on them rather than try to turn them off. Just to avoid twisting off a stud.

Looks like it's got EGR.

EGR may be the issue, maybe not the manifold itself.

Probably better a dealer handle it as those things can be a bear.
