Removing Engine Cover

On my BX2660 the manual and the label under the hood refer to a "band" that holds the hood in a half shut position. I can't find this band anywhere. I called the dealer and they said there is no band you just hold the hood down about half way.
Has anyone seen the "band"? What is it made of? Can I buy it as a part?

We use ours, it is a black flexible strip located just below the latch, you will have to look very closely as it goes back into the recess, my wife and son couldn't find it either.
