Recommended Kubota Online Parts In Canada ? - Looking for snowblower shear pins BX2822A

Hi everyone !
Looking for an online parts store for Canada. I broke a shear pin on my brand new BX2822A ( second time using it )

I did a Google, but there are a lot of sites, I just don't know what is recommended for Canada in terms of easy and speed of shipping etc.

Thank you for any help ! I appreciate it !

P.S. there are 2 shear pins. 1 which is longer goes into the auger rods. The other goes into the shaft that is very close to the impeller
and is much smaller. Just for anyone reading this in the future. If you need part numbers I can supply them.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had checked their website a few hours ago. They do not ship anywhere but the States. Kubota forbids it.

Kubota Canada's website is useless. Input my model of snowblower, - no results. Enter the shear pin numbers in their part finder, it doesn't even work. No online store either. Yikes, it's 2021. Not everyone lives close to a dealer.

If you are in Canada why not contact a Kubota dealer in Canada? You could also use a generic shear bolt with the same specs.

I go 'online' to the Canadian Kubota Parts website, find what I need, then I email the part numbers to the local Kubota dealer , GALER EQUIPMENT and within a week I have the parts. What's nice is the online price IS the price they charge, so no surprises when I pay the bill. GALER staff are always nice and helpful.
I email the numbers so neither of us say '1332' when it should be '1223'.....

The nearest dealer to me is either 350 or 500 km away. They’ve both been very helpful and ship everything to me. 2-3 days and via purolator, no shipping charges.
as for a shear bolt, any ole hardware store bolt will work. One with 3 little lines on the head (grade 5?). Get the right diameter. (Likely 1/4 or 5/16). Put a small cut in it with a Hacksaw if you’re really worried about it not breaking.

I get my shear bolts from Kubota. The shorter impeller shear bolts has threads at the shear point which results in a smaller net diameter and so can be standard grade 5 without a relief groove machined into it. The longer auger shear bolts are grooved at the correct size, depth and location,and have threadsat the other end at the shear point, to properly shear. I have found they do not shear unless a solid object like a piece of 2x4 jams. Ice chunks do go through. They work.

So a grade 5 bolt like from the hardware store is really all that Kubota sells me anyway for the impeller bolt, and they're fair about the price on those.

The grade 5 grooved auger shear bolts I buy from the dealer even at the premium cost. I think my last stash is going to last me a while, though. This year I have not yet sheared a pin. The first few years snow blowing our driveway and parking area and other corners around the yards ate pins. This fall the whole area I looked over well before snow. Apparently I can still learn some shit on occasion.

Go to bolts plus/fastenal/brafasco/whatever industrial hardware supplier you have near by and buy some grade 3 bolts in the length you need. Buy a box of 50.

If you were to give an idea of where you are located I'm sure folks here might give you some guidance on which dealers in the area are decent to deal with.

With respect to the comment about using any old Grade 5 bolt, please, please disregard that comment. I've done the analysis and found the auger sheer bolts used by Kubota are specific to that purpose for good reason. They have grooves machined into their unthreaded grip. The bolt is designed to shear flat at those grooves (where the bolt shear strength is reduced by almost 30%). This produces a predictable shear line. Using a softer bolt with the equivalent shear strength does not produce the same result as it does not produce a flat shear plane and may result in "smearing" of the broken bolt, making it an absolute PITA to remove from the inner shaft.

Spend the CAD$4 each the dealer wants for those shear bolts. They are FAR cheaper than a new auger gearbox! (Says the guy who just spent $129 at the dealer for a winter's supply for his three Kubota blowers!)

If you want a more predictable shear get a fully threaded bolt (no shoulder). They don't smear and usually just fall out of the hole. If I paid $4 each shear bolt on my post hole auger I'd go broke.

The post hole auger is a completely different application than the snowblower auger shafts. Given the cost of the auger gearbox it just ain't worth taking a chance. I've seen a threaded bolt used in this location and it produced some rather ugly results.
