Since you have a box blade, rip N-S, then wait a day, rip E-W, then wait a day. Repeat this 2-3 times.Helps if Mother Nature rains on it !
Ideally use a subsoiler to breakup the 30+ year old hardpan. It gets down a LOT deeper than the boxblade teeth. The more you breakup the 'dirt', with te rip teeth the easier it'll be to 'till' later on.
