Bought a B6100E last fall. No hour meter. Started great, ran good just drove it around the property for 10 minutes before tearing into restoration. Many small bits, labels and paint later, during restoration of the dash I found the "low oil pressure" lamp burnt out. Replaced the entire assembly. You guessed it "low oil pressure" light now on continuously. Checked oil pressure switch per WSM and it checks fine. This is my first diesel project and I'm thinking 3 possible reasons for no oil pressure.
#1 plug from camshaft fell out
#2 oil pump failure
#3 Bottom bearings shot
I intend to proceed by pulling the oil pan, looking for plug, checking crankshaft bearings, opening front side to check camshaft for plug and access to oil pump.
No cracks in block, head gasket intact. Will also check compression along the way.
My questions are, what is parts availability for the D650A? Crankshaft bearings? Crankshaft? Pistons? Rings? Cylinder sleeves? If I've got to remove the engine again and open it up I intend to IRAN (inspect and replace as necessary) everything.
Who has done this? I bought the tractor as a project,it's just gone a bit deeper.
