2011 Kubota 2320HST. I was clearing sloped driveway using both rear blade and FEL, in 4WD. While pulling uphill on icy slope wheels started spinning and I stomped on differential lever a few times - not realizing that is not the proper procedure! Later I discovered that the rear wheels were sometimes not pulling at all and sometimes intermittently. I have just purchased a repair manual online. I'm hoping it's just the external linkage but from what I gather on forums, etc. probably not. Will have a better idea once I remove panels, etc. Advice on determining issue? How to check CV shafts?

There is no CV shafts!
Check the tire pressures as the rims are very likely spinning inside the tires.

No wonder I couldn't find them in manual.. Saw mention on some post.
I'll check the tire pressures but don't think that's the case. Hope not anyway!
Thanks for the reply!

Actually you should hope that's your problem, easy fix, air up the tire and the problem goes away!

You will need to remove the RR axle housing to access the failure.
Say a prayer, kiss your lucky rabbit's foot, shave a goat, or do whatever you do for luck, and hope it's just a broken shift fork, not the differential.
Its probably the differential.

I totally missed the "wheels started spinning and I stomped on differential lever a few times"

Is this incorrect?

How did you conclude that the rear wheels were sometimes not pulling at all ?

Put the tractor in 2WD and observed neither rear wheel turned?

It's incorrect and a great way to break parts engaging the Diff lock when the tires are spinning!

OK, so push in the clutch (manual) or let off the speed control pedal (HST), then engage the diff lock? Luckily my B7100 survived without me doing this the last 30 years.

That did occur to me after my last comment.
Bitter cold here, will probably wait a few days before checking it out.
Appreciate the feedback, will let you know what I find. Hopefully that's the only problem!!

Because in 2-wheel drive sometimes it would not go forward at all, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
Wolfman you were spot on. Low tire pressure and rim spinning, duh.
I moved tractor to my shop and ended up with flat tire, off the bead. Again, not too bright...
After watching YouTubes I managed to get it reinflated using ratchet wrench etc.
And no other issues found thankfully! Tractor is working fine.

Still need to refill tire, and planning to use windshield wash I will buy at Sam's (cheapest found).

I have had tractor since 2011 but have had no mentoring whatsoever aside from YouTubes and articles (and manual), so a slow learning process.

Thank You Sir!
