I'm struggling to determine what type of tire chains to buy for my L3301 4wd tractor with 15-19.5 NHS rear tires. The deep lug tires have liquid ballast and I do have a 3pt very heavy duty box blade that I can install for added weight. My dilemma is this: I have a concrete driveway and I use the front loader bucket to remove/plow snow, mostly using it's float function. When I do this I usually get down to, or close to, bare pavement. The other issue is I have a couple (downhill) locations on my 30 acre property that I need to get to when we have snow (sometimes a lot of snow, I live in western Iowa). I'd like to use the tractor to get to them, but the last time I tried I nearly got stuck and it took a long slippery time to get back. I'm looking for chains that won't tear up my concrete driveway yet are aggressive enough to get me through the snow. It's my understanding that twisted or square chains are the best for dual use on/off road, but are they robust enough for my needs? I'm thinking if my on-concrete use is limited, and I go at a slow speed, that I can go with something more aggressive. I know studded or V-bar chains are out. These are the candidates I'm considering:
