Rear Blade Land Pride or King Kutter HD

I am looking at a couple of different models one being the LP RB2672 which is about $975.00 and a King Kutter HD-RB-72
I know it is not apples to apples since the LP unit weighs in at 369lbs and the KK weighs in at 675lbs
I will use it for grading a 950ft long driveway and plowing snow possibly moving some dirt. The King Kutter will be about the same money when it is on sale and seems like it may be better suited. Anyone have a KK HD-RB-72?

Weight is your friend when grading, the heavier blade will work better just about every time.

Agreed, weight is your friend with blades and scrapers, MtnViewRanch and others convinced me several years ago and am glad though my pocketbook hurt for a while. In this case, no downside, while I prefer LP or Woods, we've been using a heavy KK for a lot of years and it works fine.

We have a cheap blade that we use for grading our 1/2 mile lane. Its been welded more times than i can count. It wont do much of anything without weight, so i have a concrete fence post strapped on. The cutting edge is bent. Get the heavier blade.

...also, be sure to get a clevis type three point hitch instead of standard pins....the clevis will not bend as easily as the pins...and like the others have said the heavier the better, to engage the ground regardless of the brand. I like the older units as the steel seems to be better than the new stuff in today's implements...not knocking the new stuff, just my experience...good luck with your decision!

Excellent point. Start looking at farm auctions and/or equipment auctions. a good old used one will be cheaper and much better built most likely.
