Last year someone posted here showing an ATV basket fitted to the ROPS of a tractor. I copied the idea and fitted one to my L3200, it is so useful and allows me to carry a chainsaw, bar oil and a gas can. It still has room for a few other tools or maybe a jacket. I recently fitted another 2 same model baskets to my L3901 and my MX5800. The basket is 39.5" wide and lines up great on the L3200 and L3901. For the MX5800 I had to fit it to the angled part of the ROPS. This is such an awesome accessory for me as my use is a large woodland acreage, I travel miles of woodland tracks and am always finding trees in the way.

Basket is from Summit Powersports $107 -

Brackets are 5" x 2" rectangular U bolts from Menards - $1.60 each

Here's 2 photos of L3901 and 1 photo of MX 5800

Nice set up... BTW, Are you in the running for the most implements stored indoors?!?!?! I count about 15 of them in just this photo...
Old and Tied,
I have a lot of 4’ deep rack that I fill with implements, I like to keep them inside but ran out of space. Large skid steer heavy duty buckets and similar endure the weather out doors, I should have built a bigger barn ...lol

I have the same "home depot" style pallet racks in my garage, love them.

Rather than mount the basket thru the webbing I drilled the framework and mounted the U-bolts thru that.
Geohorn,

your basket was wider or your rops narrower. The 37.5” wide basket was equal to my mid or center rops distance on my L series so I could not fix as you did. My MX has a wider rops than the L series.

Your method is very good solution for a narrow rops. It’s very neat.

I’m sorry... I did not intend to appear critical of your installation, I was only hoping to encourage a sturdier solution.
Your webbing is certainly heavier-duty than that on my basket so it may be sufficient for what you carry. I carry two chains, a sledge-hammer, a bow-saw, and a crow-bar in mine and it’s lighter-duty webbing would not hold up to constant bouncing/jarring well.
It does appear that if you shifted the angle of your U-bolts you could “span” across the framework, however. YMMV and certainly your pleasure to choose. (Again, I apologize if I seemed critical... not my intent.) :censored:

I did not think you were being critical. Yours is a neater install, your rops must be narrower than mine as my basket does not stick out either side of my rops. I would have preferred your method if I could use it. My method also involves a few seconds of grinder use on the mesh so that you can get the U bolts in place correctly.

This is good as we have shown how a basket can pretty much be mounted to any size rops on a compact tractor. Like you I also normally carry a box saw and a chain in addition to my chainsaw.

The last photo above is my MX5800, the rops was wider, I had to install the upper clamps on the angle of the rops, the top U clamps went around the basket frame but the lower U bolts just went through the mesh of the basket. Even though I was not 100% happy with mounting through the basket mesh, the result is still an amazingly solid mount.

I still think this is just the best and most useful add on for my tractors and comes at a very reasonable price.
