Going to run one of these 8' fixed mowers when not using a 15' batwing...

Any experience in which seems to be a better mower and opinions on running the tow behind model of one of these versus running the 3 point hitch version...

Thanks.

I have owned and operated a RCR2596 for three years. It is a pull type, I love it! No beating and shocking you like the 3 point models. The RCF3596 is the same mower with the heavy duty upgrade.
Since I pasture cut with mine I chose the medium 2596. I hope this helps!

GaBota....will I get any nicer of a "finish" to the cut with the 2596 versus the 3696 ?

Based on what I read it doesnt seem like it -- as they appear to have the exact same blades -- its just the 2696 just is more heavy duty with heavier duty gear boxes and etc. -- just in case you want to put it through heavier stuff...but if the blades are the same..would seem to me the cut in a "grass field" would be about the same ....?? You agree...?

Yes, I agree, if you are only mowing grass, small trees, etc. the lighter duty gearbox will work fine. It is my understanding though that the 3000 series is the heavy duty mower.

GaBota...yes, but my question is -- does the heavier duty 3696 give a worse finish cut in just grass..? it appears even though the 3696 is heavier duty - it has same blades as the 2596 -- so should give same "finish cut" in grass - but ability to go into heavier stuff if needed...? You see it the same way?

Yes I do, you should get the same cut.
