Going to purchase a rotary cutter for my L3200. I was looking at the RCR 1860 but a local guy said the 3200 wouldn't slip the clutch if it hit anything, he recommended the RCR 1560 instead.

Anyone here running a 3200 with a 1860 in heavy brush?

You need to stop talking to that guy. Only reasons why it would not slip the clutch, if equipped? The clutch disc were rusted to the plates or if the spring tensions were set too tight.

I was about to purchase a 1860 for my l3830 when I ran across a 2560. Alot heavier unit than the 1860 and the 3830 pulls it with no problem. The slip clutch will work just fine if it is adjusted correctly regardless of the tractors hp.

I have a RCR 1860 for my L3800. No problems or lack of power to run. 90 % of the time I'm just keeping my field clear of brush growing and I'm not reving up to the 570 mark anyway.

I also wanted to add that the slip clutches are easy to work on. Mine were frozen due to weather and lack of adjustment, but after disassembly and a paint scraper to separate the plates, it's like new. I have used both shear pins and slip cluches, the key is to pay attention to what you're doing.

Thanks for the input. After looking at used cutters and figuring out that good condition in the description means worn out and very good means heavily used and needs a little work I'm going to just get the 1860 new and be done with it.

May even pick up a set of pallet forks to go with it!
