When i got my mower, i set the guide wheels as specified in the manual for 3.5” With the deck all the way down, the front guide wheels were not touching the ground and all of the weight was on the rear ones, I adjusted the front link 1/2 turn longer and the wheels are now just touching the ground. Is this supposed to be set where the front link is basically loose and the mower is completely sitting on the ground or is most of the weight meant to sit on the rear guide wheels?
Thanks in advance, Hunter

Sitting on a level concrete floor, all 4 gage wheels should contact the floor at about the same time as one lowers the lift.

Adjustment of the mounting hardware is well covered in the mower (not tractor) Operator's Manual.

I'm unfamiliar with the wheels in the back center of the deck. Maybe they control the deck height in the back and the front linkage controls the front height.

I don't believe the scarfing wheels on the 4 corners of the deck are supposed to touch. They prevent the mower from bottoming out on uneven ground. Raise the wheels all the way up, set your mowing height front-to-back and side to side, the deck should "float". Then lower the scarfing wheels to the recommended height off the ground (i.e. 1/4" to 1/2") according to the manual.

Depends upon type of deck.

Suspended decks do not have gagge wheels, but rather, anti-scalp rollers, which are not intended to touch the ground while mowing.

Proper terrain following decks have gage wheels which control cutting height. OP's deck must be terrain following as he stated that he set the "guide" wheels to 3.5".

An important thing to keep in mind here is that the deck needs to have a slight forward pitch. Otherwise the tractor works harder because the leading edge cuts the grass once then the following edge cuts it agin, lower.

So I'm thinking all 4 wheel on the ground is your best move.

Originally I had the same line of thinking as @Bee-Positive , but after doing some research this deck does seem to be the ground following type rather than a suspended type.
