I've got a TG1860 with an RCK54TG deck on it. Recently I needed to change the blades and I wanted to try out the Gator blades I've heard so much about. The first time around I ended up getting the wrong set of blades, so I want to save some folks a lot of time and hassle.
If you go to the Gator blade site, you stand a 50/50 chance of getting the wrong blades. The listing they show for this mower and deck is for decks with serial number 24,205 or greater. Unfortunately, they do no tell you this. I don't think they actually know about it, although I informed them this week.
To make a long story short, Kubota changed the deck at some point and the gator blade you need depends on the serial number of your deck. If your deck is below serial number 24,205 you can use the Gator G6 blade, part number 396-748. The difference between decks below serial number 24,205 and those above it is the hole in the center. Below 24,205 the hole is 11/16. Above 24,205 and the hole is 7/8. Everthing else is the same.
If you have a deck with the serial 24,205 and above you need part number 396-812. Like I said above the blades are identical except the for center hole diameter. I'd also like to point out that the Gator blade is 3 inches wide, which is wider than the OEM blade. This does not make a difference on this deck as the blade does not fit in a saddle. It is just as happy with the 3 inch blade as the 2 inch original. The length is the same as the OEM. Mine work great and the mower is very happy with them. Hope this helps someone.
