I am having all kinds of problems with the oil seal on the main shaft of the gearbox.
Is there an easy way to change it without completely taking the gear box apart?
I've lost two in the last year. Caught it both times but it is a nuisance..

If your gearbox is like most kubota decks, you shouldn't have to take the gearbox apart to replace the seals. The input shaft seal can be done with the gearbox mounted to the deck, but the mainshaft requires the box to be removed from the deck.

Something is wrong if you went through two seals in a year. Check the mainsaft for excessive side to side movement. If there is, you have a bearing or case problem. If not, you might be damaging them during the installation.

Check the vent for being clogged is another issue that happens occasionally.
