I currently have an mx5400 with an RCF 2072 brush cutter. I'd like to get a wider brush cutter, so I'm looking at the RCF 2084 for that reason. Brush cutter is heavier, but I think the Mx 5400 can handle it or is it too much for my tractor? I'm not seeing it listed as a compatible implement in myKubota app. Obviously not as maneuverable as my 6 ft, but I'm hoping to knock out pasture cutting a little faster.

Depends upon what you plan to cut, how ofter you plan to cut it, how quickly you hope to travel while mowing, terrain, and the weight of the cutter.I currently have an mx5400 with an RCF 2072 brush cutter. I use a heavy 6' Woods cutter with my GL6060 and it's all it wants in some of the places that I mow routinely. I once owned a 7' Woods cutter, used with a heavy MF 60 PTO HP tractor (since sold) and later with my M9960, but did not like it and sold it. I'm not fond of 7' cutters for multiple reasons, expecially, the weight well behind the lift arms. Twin spindle 8' cutters are usually a better option if power/conditions allow.
One cannot go wrong by following the recommended implement limitations in yout tractor Opoerators Manual.

Good day. I have an RCF2772, and I don’t see any reason why an MX would not handle an 2084. The MX has the HP to handle it and the weight difference between the 20 series at 84” and the 27 at 72” series is negligible whether 1 or 2 tail wheels IMO. When I am not in the woods / trails I wish I had a little wider cutter. I think your ground speed will decide how well it cuts heavy brush and tall wet grass…if it bogs down, reduce ground speed until through the thick stuff.

Being new to tractors I wanted to make sure I wasn't exceeding the capabilites of my tractor. I mainly cut pasture, small saplings on some uneven ground. I don't usually cut too fast to start with. I do have a pretty good hill that I cut as well. Looks like this cutter is about 300 lbs heavier than my current cutter. Thanks again.Good day. My 2772 is just over 1072 by the spec sheet…which is similar in weight to the 2084….I do typically have my front load on while using it…IMO my Mx is very front heavy to begin with, so the loader may or may not be necessarily as a front weight.
