You would think that finding a K2581-62242 would be simple and straightforward, but it has been extraordinarily difficult, with everyone redirecting to the horn switch.
Not "everyone" is redirecting to the switch with a horn button.

Then they're lazy. They don't know or care what they're selling, as long as it makes them a buck.

What I find interesting (or scary) is how widespread this movement is among K2581-62242 "sellers".

Why this overwhelming tendency towards selling a horn switch in its place? Or to falsely advertise the horn switch as it?
Did you bother checking with your local dealer? Or are you one of the lazy ones that just uses the internet then wonder why they don’t have any to fix their tractor when they need someone because they have gone out of business.

The nearest dealer is 30 miles away, and they have a 3-month wait time for service right now, and you have to drop off your equipment to be put in the queue -- they don't make appointments or call you when they're ready to work on yours -- so I'm learning how to service it myself.

I do not use the internet because I'm lazy. I have health issues and so it's hard to drive 60 miles round-trip and to walk around a dealership. I also work from home.

When I went to the Kubota website, it said that the K2581-6224* part was discontinued.

Dozens of other sites said it was discontinued and replaced with the horn switch. A few sellers like the Amazon one above even sold the horn switch falsely claiming it was the part number K2581-62242. Same for eBay.

What website are you using? Kubota USA's parts site shows the part as orderable, not discontinued.

The web interfaces of some of these sites make it hard to find parts, and often they misdirect you to parts you don't want. I find the Kubota site less than the friendliest when searching for parts.

It's moot now.
