Raising and lowering the implements

I have a Kubota M4700. My only other tractor was an old John Deere, so that's the only one I have to compare operation of the tractor. My question about this Kubota is raising and lowering the hydraulic lift on the implement in the back. It works OK, no problems, but this Kubota sure seems to have a much more limited range of up and down than my old JD had. It would be nice to be able to raise and lower tools to a greater degree. Is there an adjustment for that? Not a huge issue since I can get most things to work decently, but it would be nicer to occasionally get it to lift higher or lower. Other than that it's a good solid tractor.

Some of the arms have more pin "holes" to attach to - by chance, do those 3 point arms have other sets of holes?
Here is a picture of your machine ....

see the other set of holes? NOW - this will REDUCE the ability to lift something real heavy - but it will change the lifting on the rear.

Might not fix all your problems but it will make a solution.

Doesn't placement of the top link to the tractor also have an effect on that? Hokie appears to have his in the top hole at the tractor.

Not my machine - but you bring up a good point - a short top link will allow a higher raise

The connecting point and length of the top link more changes the arc geometry of the equipment as it's raising, lifting the back end of it higher for better departure angle. It also affects lifting capacity of the tractor, depending on the distance of the attachment's center of gravity from the lift arm pivots. If you put the lift links in the holes closest to the pivots, it will greatly increase the height of the centerline of the horizontal lift pins, and total range of the lift arms. If you put the top-link in the bottom hole, it will cause the back end of the attachment to raise up higher. Changing the link length will change how much higher and when it actually starts tilting forward, which is how the departure angle is increased. But, either adjustment also shortens the leverage geometry and puts more load on the lift links. Just be careful what you're lifting. Probably OK for a box blade or maybe a light finish mower, but I wouldn't want to be lifting a heavy rotary cutter or disk harrow with added weight any more than is necessary to clear the worst departure angle. Keep an eye on the pins in the lift links too. Added lift is added work is added wear.

The good news about a M4700 is it’s 3-pt is rated to lift 4,000 lbs.... so it’s doubtful HS2 will run into difficulty by relocating his lift-links on his lift arms.
