Radiator fan blades..

Well today i was with a friend and he has a nice old Steyr Tractor from the early 70s and this tractor has the diesel reservoir in front of the radiator,
the tractor was having cooling problems here in Greece at summer.

that friend of mine had found a nice and cheap way to increase the cooling.

it just change the 4 blade fan with a 6 blade fan and that increased the air flow.
better the cooling.
have any of you orange maniacs make a change like that?
im thinking of buying a fan from a bigger kubota with 6 blades and installed in my small l185.
its cheap and it is the same dimensions and blade angle of the original but with more blades?

More blades is not necessarily more airflow. There are a lot of factors involved, pitch, diameter, style of blade, etc.

If you need more cooling, you might be better served with an auxiliary radiator and an electric fan attached to it. You can make the electric fan switched on by temp and then it's mostly a worry free setup. This also gives you a greater cooling sump and if placed right, additional time between cooling system cleanings.
