1994 B7100 HST Diesel with fan mounted dynamo. The radiator was leaking, actually has been for years everytime it gets hot. I've cleaned, flushed, everything the forum talk about doing and it has helped some until today. The fins are pretty beat up, but the leak is in the top tank along the front. Today it separated about 7 inches across the front. Perhaps too many cleanings. My question is about replacement or recore. What are your thoughts. What about the rads you see on ebay for around 300.00. Are they junk? Who is a reliable dealer?

Appreciate your thoughts.

Also heard there is a 5 or 6 blade fan to replace the original 4 blade. I use the tractor in florida so it is almost always over 90 during the day. Does anyone know where to get these fans and what the part number would be?

It's just me but, I'd check local Rad shops first. Find one that really does recores and repairs. So many has gone to just ordering replacements around here.

Got mine here:

http://www.griggslawnandtractor.com/servlet/Categories

(mine was a '77 with a manual trans, so was cheaper..)
He had a coupon and it was on sale so it was like $280 shipped last year.
It is from Ireland and is very good quality, been in for like a year now and no complaints.
Every thing was identical to the OEM old one that was in there.
To get mine recored was going to be like $350 locally and he told me he was "doing me a favor"...
LOL,
KC

Found an older gentleman that is retiring and had a rad shop for years. He has the rad and is supposed to call me when he gets it apart. Definitely old school. We'll see and I'll post an update when I get it back.

Well the old boy came through for me. Rodded and resoldered the pans and no leaks after cutting about 12 acres. Got an extension, Yay. Only charged 70 bucks too. Can't beat that.
