I debated R1's vs R4's when buying this L3901 but its mainly mowing and landscaping so I ultimately decided on the R4's. I was pleased by how the performed on this grading job They negotiate the grade with no problem and they tracked the fill in nicely.

All around R4s work well for me too.

I see your tracks are up and down on that slope. Mine would be too. No way I would be comfortable sideways there...

Glad you made the right tire decision for your needs!

Agree. R1’s certainly have their place, but R4’s have worked quite well for the tasks I have (which does not include agricultural type tillage where R1’s really shine). Glad yours are working well for you, also.

I was worried I made the wrong choice after reading all the negative on the r4s but so far they have done fine. Snow was my biggest concern but they plowed right through it.

I have R4s on two of my Kubotas (R1s on the largest and Z-Bars on the smallest.) All have proven to be well suited for my uses.

R4s are ideally suited for HD FEL work and also suitable for mowing duty, an all around good compromise for many folks.

Not yet owned R-14Ts but am considering them for my next tractor. Not happy with the significant ballooning, though.

I have a L2501 with R4's as for use of the tractor is 89% mowing 2 acres, snowplowing flat drive way/parking is roughly 90 ft by 100 ft. At times I wish I had turf rubber but then if I had turf I wish I had R4s. The only down side of R4s is they can and will dig into your turf when sharp turning and we conditions that is the only thing I dont like.

The R4's are a nice tire!! Definitely our most popular sellers by far, a few people request the R1's or turf's.

If you want a little more grip, groove them, it makes a noticeable difference.
