I was in need of new tires to replace the originals, now quite old and starting to crack. I decided to go with the R14s given my usage situation, we'll see how they do - fingers crossed.

I found that a new set directly from the local dealer, mounted on new rims, was about the same price as ordering tires online and then having to either mount them myself (sounds like they can be a pain) or taking them in. Plus now I can swap back to the old tires in the summer if I really want to (almost certainly not though).

It sure spruced up the look of the tractor, so I figured I'd post some photos for reference. The front wheels are quite a bit larger as well. The dealer really wasn't sure if this would all fit so insisted I first bring in the old wheels to compare against a current BX. Fits perfectly.

Those look pretty good. I have one question. In your picture of the old and new front tires , it appears like the old tires are taller than the new ones. Is that an illusion or fact? Maybe it only looks that way because of camera angle or because no weight on the old tire...

Without taking it off the old ones do stand just over and inch higher. Definitely a lot of weight on the front from the tractor and loader though. If I have time tomorrow I'll jack it up and take the weight off and compare.

If the rear tires are not similarly smaller you may have a concern when in 4wd. The "lead" of the front tires when in 4wd must be within 3% to 5%. The lead is the measurement of how much faster the front tires are driven than the rear tires when in 4wd. If the lead is off the drivetrain has too much stress and you may need to adjust the lead by adding or subtracting air from either the front tires or the rear tires. That may give you the correct amount of lead provided it is not too far off from specification.

This was my thought too. But since you bought them from the dealer (if I remember right) seems like they should have the correct size ratio.
