Those heavy 4 link chains must ride rough. I like the 2 link chains better because you get a smoother ride. The 4 link and 2 link refers to the number of links in the side chain between the cross chain attachment points if you don’t know that.

Yes, they do. I almost bought a new set this year because how much these chains weigh. Great for more weight in the back, bad for me installing them. Something to think about when buying chains. Like I said in the original post, I got them for next to nothing so I will make them work for me. They do the job.

I have loaded rears on my L2501hst R4s with ladder chains from tirechain.com. They work fine.

I use more aggressive diamond chains on my Polaris Ranger. They are smaller and cheaper.

My L2501 was a bit dangerous with no chains. Dangerous as in sliding sideways On a slight road angle.

I have been blowing my 1/4 mile driveway with no chains for 39 years. Turfs and now the R-14’s. I do have a couple hills, one that gives me trouble sometimes( snow conditions ). I just blow downhill for that short distance that the hill is present. I would try without chains to see how she handles your drive. I thought turfs were good in snow until I had the R-14’s. These things are AMAZING in the snow. I will get the fireplace ashes out occasionally for icy spots.

Do you plow much with your Ranger?

I put chains on my B 2650 this fall.
I tried studding the tire in the past. The studs stay in the rear tiers. When you turn the wheels to steer it rips the studs out.
The chains are much more effective. I have been cutting firewood down from the house. No problem getting back up the hill in the snow.
I looked on line for chains, glad I went to the Kubota dealer. They were about $500 cheaper than online.
Not sure what the pattern is called but they work good. I can see that these chains would make a mess of an unfrozen lawn
