Hi...I recently had to remove the fuel tank from my bx2350. it was a chore And when I put it all back together It starts fine but when I hit forward or reverse it stalls. It’s obvious the machine thinks I’m not sitting on it. I checked the switch under the seat and everything seams ok. Is there a way to disengage this switch? I know it’s a safety thing but everything I do is level ground. I spent so much time trying to find out why my bx was stalling and when I corrected it by cleaning out the tank....now this. Thanks

Your tractor is not as simple as you seem to think It has an electronic brain not just safety switches.

It has an OPC (Operator presence Control) .

Check out test #3 & 4 on the attached page.

The range shift lever switch and/or pto switch are involved with the seat switch in deciding if the engine needs to be stopped.

I do not think anyone would want the responsibility of telling you how to bypass a safety switch.

You drive under a low hanging branch and get knocked off the seat and run over by your own machine......... ...... lets try and figure out what is wrong.

Disclaimer DO NOT DISBLE ANY SAFETY SYSTEMS. That being said if the seat sensor is 2 wires you usually have to jumper the two wires together(just so people do not just unplug it) if I was going to bypass the safety seat switch the connector would get a paper clip cut down and inserted into it and wrapped with electrical tape.

You say you checked the switch under the seat and it "seems fine". Did you use a ohmmeter or just assume since it clicked it works? If the switch works and your tractor still stalls that is probably not your problem. A bit more troubleshooting is probably in order. If a meter does say the switch is bad it's pretty easy to replace and not terribly expensive.

The safety switch is located in the center of the seat bottom. Mine had a problem once and I took out the switch and shot some WD40 into it and worked the switch several times and it started working again. That was a few years ago. I have not had a problem with it since.

BTW, I tested that the switch was bad by shorting the connector pins and pressing the go pedal The engine stayed running so that confirmed the problem component.

Often when stuff quits after you do something, go back to what you did. It seems odd that a seat switch would go bad when you removed the fuel tank. Not impossible but odd.

Go back and look for something intentionally or accidentally unplugged. After that go back to Reply #2 and the attached PDF.
