Quick Hitch

Greetings from West Central Indiana. I have just purchased my first Kubota and I am turning to you guys for some input. I have a bx2860 and want a quick hitch to use with my tiller and future blade and rotary cutter. As everyone is, I'm always looking for the best deal, but I also know you often get what you pay for. I want a good quality quick hitch, so what brand do you recommend?

Just a reminder, when you get a quick hitch it will change the distance from your pto hook up. So, you need to check to make sure your PTO shafts are long enough to handle the change in distance if you have already purchased and cut your shafts prior to having a quick hitch.

I have the Lan Pride QH, it is expensive, but it has also worked well. My friend has the SpeeCo hitch that doesn't require bushings and really likes it.

I have both a QH20 and a Pat’s cat 1…I would only buy the Pat’s if doing all over. I think it is much more versatile as the width can be adjusted to a variety implements and it also leaves the top link adjustable to a variety of implements. I have to get off the tractor either way to flip levers and hook up a PTO, so i prefer the adjustability of the Pats.

After member input, look in the used market for a Cat1 QH (if going that route) before buying new. You might find a deal out there.

Get the most benefit from your quick hitch. Buying new get QH compatible. Here is a photo of an implement whose manufacturer has their act together. Note how it's designed for cat 1 & 2. Also the lift arm spacing can be adjusted. Some "QH compatible" only need minor modification. This TSC...

I have the LP and no regrets paying the extra $. All of my 3pt equipment is LP and they all fit ezeey-peezy.
There has been some threads in the past where the inexpensive HarborFreight QH had good comments.

Imo 3 point attachments aren't built as heavy as they use to be. Woods and Land Pride you'll get the best quality and the the right fit, but will also spend the most $$$$$. Don't waste your money on stuff from Fleet Farm OR TSC such as country line or King Kutter. Look up anything that brand used on market place or craigslist and you'll see twisted, bent rusted out blades and brush hogs.......You can save some money and buy used older heavy duty pieces, but something from the 1960's to 1980's might not be fully capable of hooking up to a new quick hitch. I knew this before buying a heavy duty blade on auction for 75.00 and a heavy duty brush hog for 400.00. Yes I just can't back up, lift up and drive away, but you're still not struggling with the 3 point, you need to get off the tractor to hook up the pto and adjust the top link anyways. I'll admit it's faster and nicer hooking up my land pride stuff vs the older stuff but an extra 2 minutes vs spending 2k is okay with me.

Usually with older stuff it's the top hook of the quick hitch that's in the way. I removed it and bought an adapter for 30.00. It's nice and works when installed correctly.

For your BX2680 (great tractor BTW) why not check FB Marketplace for a good used Land Pride QH05 (non-adjustable top hook) or QH10 (adjustable top hook). Either would work well with your tractor, both are regularly seen for sale (esp QH05) on Marketplace.

Double check, but I think I have a QH10 and the top hook is not adjustable. I believe the QH15 may be similar, but with an adjustable top hook.

Had I known when I bought, I would have paid a tad more for the QH15…. Most of my pieces work fine, but I had to develop a workaround to get my WoodMaxx flail to fit with the QH10.

I bought a QH from TSC or HF one or two tractors ago and never tried it. Still sitting in the shed unmolested.

Upon noticing the differences between the implements it just didn't seem worth the effort to mod them to make them all the same.

I’ve gotten lucky with all items but one so far.

Grader scraper, box blade, landscape rake, and tiller are all the same and hook right up to my QH10. Only the scraper and filler are LP brand. The box blade is a Woods and the rake is from EA.

The only mod I had to do for the WM flail was to place a pair of 3/8” x 2” flat bar with a hole near each end (I used a pair of truck leaf spring shackle plates for this) on the pin that holds my QH to the 3ph top link. I never remove the shackle. When not in use for the flail, the shackle just sits there and rests on top of the QH. To attach the flail, I pick up the 3ph to connect the lowers, then flip the shackle down and drop a pin through the holes and into the slotted hole on the flail. Takes about 4 seconds after connecting the PTO drive shaft.
