Quick hitch, stump grinder, and implement storage

Hi All,

looking for opinions on a quick hitch and stump grinder for my 3560 LE HST ROPS. Spend the extra for an LP QC15 ($495 from the dealer), speeco, or pats? Will be connecting box blade, brush hog and potential stump grinder. For the grinder I’ve only looked at the woodland wg24. Any others I should look at? The stumpex looks awesome but I don’t think we can run it on the pto or hydraulic from the 3560.

also, where are you storing all your implements? They are starting to pile up. Do you leave them outside? Build them a lean to?

can confirm woodland mills grinder works w LP QH10
I like the QH10 because no bushings, have never needed to move the hook, one less thing to fuss with.

I have the speeco QH and it requires modifications to fit 3/4 of my attachments. The biggest issue is the PTO shafts will hit the cross bar on the speeco on some attachments. If I did it again I'd go for Pat's QH or a trapezoidal shaped QH, my preference would be the euro style QH system

I have the QH15. I do not have a stump grinder, but have BB, grade blade, rotary mower, ripper, and disc which all work with the QH. I know I really like the QH setup, the only downside, you have to have attachments that are designed for the QH.

As far as storing, we try to store them in one of the two barns or in the lean-to. The disc ends up getting stored outside the most, with everything else generally being stored inside. The only issue I have is my dad likes to just drop an attachment wherever he might be finished with it and go get what he needs next. So, I end up cleaning up after him.

I think it is payback for all the years that I didn't pick up my toys at the house.

I have the QH15 and a woods stump grinder. I've had no issues and it works fine. My uncle has the speedco and it seems strong too. I always use the bushings so it's a good tight fit.

I use Pat's system. When Brian (FitRite) provided my TNT I converted to the Euro style top link hook. He provided all the balls I needed for my various implements (plus a few spares, jic).

I have an old Speeco, needs bushings, but I just use the slip on bushing sleeves, not the expensive ones. I removed the top hook and have a flip over top piece. At the time I bought it, not much was QH compatible. I make it work.

For storage I do have a barn and what my next project it, I bought steel racking, 30" deep by 8' high, 12' long and wil put my stuff on pallets and set them on the shelves with the pallet forks. A few items I plan to sell since I no longer use them, thought they would come in handy but were more problem to work with than worth my time.

I have a 48" rough cut, 72" finish mower, 60" tiller, and 60" box blade, they will all find a place on or under the shelves. I also have a plate compactor and 5th wheel hitch that can be stored there. This will free up a lot of room in the barn for the mower, rake and baler, and get them out of the weather. I need to repair the side doors though to get them in and out easier because the baler is 11'6" and the aisle is 12'. It's like that game Operation only instead of a buzzer and light, its the crunch of wood and broken stall door parts.

I can't comment on the woodlands grinder. I went with the Baumalight. My buddy just got the woodlands so we were able to compare them. The approach is exactly the same. The frame construction is different.

Performance wise it isn't a standalone bandit grinder. There is a small learning curve to figure out how much of a bite you can take at a time. I am surprised at how fast you can grind a stump though. I think I did a roughly 24" inch stump in about 45ish minutes. They work good for what they are. I'm happy with mine still.

Everything stored in a 20ft con-X box in the winter, out all summer for fun... Err I mean work. 6ft rotary cutter, 6ft box , wood chipper, and skidding winch and little room to spare.

are you happy with the stump grinder?

I am satisfied with it, I don't use it much but it does a good job. I prefer to dig stumps so they're gone. It hops around some if you try and go too fast (probably time to replace the teeth) but I like the control design using 2 hydraulic cylinders. The only change I'd like to make is a way to stand beside the tractor and work the controls. Sitting in the seat looking backwards gets old after a while.
