in the pic below. What does the lever the man is pulling at the top of the unit in below image do? Also what is reason for his needing to do anything at the bottom pin?

grrrr.. damn why are the pics always to big to upload. guess I'll just to link to it. Hate linking... cause link eventually goes bad which is not good for archiving

I believe it's the lock and unlock for the implement. Raise the handle when unhooking from and implement. Lower the handle to lock the implement to the quick hitch. Course I could have it bass akwards

Yes, correct, not bassakwards. Or at least on mine, appears to be different brand.

Yup, it is the locking lever, It HAS to be pulled up and over to hook up and closed to lock in place. I think I understand the Pat's lock lever to be spring loaded to no attention is necessary to hook up.

The guy in that picture may be man handling his implement to the tractor, getting ready to un hook by pulling the lever up or just posing for the photo. If it is set up correctly there is no need for what he is doing once the lever is raised and ready to hook up assuming he is hooking and not unhooking.

I got a QH and can't easily reach my levers from the seat and wish I'd of got the pats. I am going to swap out my QH and put it on my little 4100 green tractor to sell off this spring.

ahhhhhhhh. OK. so if someone was to say "fabricate" a little modification it could become adjustable in width. hmmmm.

My thought is change the top bar to be receiver tube. Then the verticals on a slider along that receiver tube and whala... ya got your self an adjustable width quick hitch.

Now only if my fab and welding skills matched my idea skills lol.

With my Quick hitch don't have to pull up on the levers to attach a implement, they are spring loaded, just back under implement and lift, to drop it, lift up the 3 point to where the levers are easily reached from the seat, lift them, and drop the implement off, easy peasy!

Second it only takes a little work to get most all implements to be Quick Hitch ready, I set all mine up in an afternoon, and the ones that are harder, just a little cutting and welding can set them right up, and once they are done it's permanent.

With the Pats system you have to get off and hook up the top link, and that in it's self can be tricky and dangerous if you're not careful, with a Quick hitch it's back up, lift, and go, only have to get off to hook up the snow blowers PTO shaft.

It is to each there own, I just like the simplicity of the quick hitch, without it, it took an act of congress to hook up the snow blower!

Seems to me that for many implements, the biggest job is in implementing some sort of a stand more than making it fit the hitch spacing. One of my most hated tasks is trying to get the auger mounted. Likewise for booms, sub-soiler, or anything that doesn't just sit there nice and convenient like a box or disk. Compared to that task, which is needed anyway unless you want to stack concrete blocks or something and wrestle it around, making it fit the spacing is pretty trivial. I've considered a quick hitch, but don't really use it enough to justify. But I've GOT to make time to make a few racks. The Pat's system seems really well made, but if I'm going that way, it will be a full 3 point quick hitch.

I just pushed on the lock levers by hand and they did not move, and did not consider a stronger spring might be in play, it does makes sense, I'm having a DUH ! moment, I will look at it the next time I am hooking as I did not realize it was possible to just pick up and go without opening the levers
