Questions to ask when buying

What are some questions that some of you have asked when looking and deciding when buying? Some of mine were if they had any used models.. Not since December was answer. Had price quote for a bx1870 with belly mower, FEL, and tiller for $15,796.13 if I did finance. Oddly it says CNH Capital. So another question I plan on asking is the tier IV engine and difference with a BX23xx with same options and the DPF how it works. And last to see price with R1 tires as turf tires offer not much traction if ground wet from morning dew from using old crapsman mower- engine blew within 2 years on it due to defect. Is there any other questions I should ask as well? I would buy used model but most are at least in my region asking $9000 with just main machine with a mower and maybe a FEL if one is included. Thanks to what I have read, the BXpanded site has a couple options to buy for the fan under the machine and the FEL bar to cut small trees. And most of all a couple new fuel cans. This is also my first tractor to own and operate. Most of time it will mow yards and occational till garden, fix gravel part of driveway and clear hill side of trees and clear big snows we get in Kentucky, which we had maybe 2 times. Hence no real need for snow blade as most of driveway is paved so far and sun melts off faster with compacted snow.

My question is simply is there any other questions I should ask in edition to if they offer free delivery by chance or do I spend $2800 for a trailer and hitch or just rent them to do own delivery.

I was at local dealer yesterday and the owner told me that emission crap is not on any motor under 26 hp. I was looking at a new bx25d and ask that same question about the emission regs on those motors.

I would ask if they deliver. Im sure they most likely will at no charge. I had my new tractor delivered for free and made sure to ask up front. They also made mention that for service during non-peak seasons they would pick up for free. But during the summer months dont offer such pickup for free due to the volume of new deliveries and also serivces being done, which I understand.

I also called around to the nearest 5 Kubota dealers to compare prices, and ended up going with the local guy because he ended up being cheaper and I got a good feel from their dealership.

I chose to not buy a trailer for that such reason but then came across a used trailer for a great deal and couldnt pass it up.

dfh1977 - 2 of my dealers are within 30-45 min of each other. One is near my Home and the other near my property. The other dealers I called were anywhere from 1.5-3 hours away. But it gave me a good idea on where all the prices fell. I do the same thing when I purchase cars. When I got my wives last year I called around to about the same amount of dealers and tell them I want a No BS price out the door. If they can't give a customer a price then thats the last time I talk to that dealer. Car dealers more then Tractor dealers pull the come in and we can talk about it card. But I dont have the time to play games. They shouldn't have a problem giving you prices over the phone. I found that when I bought my L3800 they were all within $1,000+-.

Called different dealer this morning, price quote on 1870 and 2370-1 was cheaper by about $750, with insurance thru Kubota was about same per month as other dealer without. They also offered free delivery if given at least 1 day notice. Even offered picture of single plow. So checking prices made it worth while.

Went to dealer added single plow. FEL not in stock at time, got BX2370 and once FEL comes in they will be doing delivery next week. Each and every item on controls went over and best I can see is MMM needs to be slowed down a little lifting and dropping, yet told to run at highest speed RPMs while running. Had checked local tractor supply for plow, way too small for price. Will be happier when set arrives.

Might have to ask for extra key and a steering wheel fob if they will throw it in since I have to wait. Lol
