L2800 4wd lever.jpg

This photo shows the 4wd control lever. Can anyone deternine by the photo
if the lever is in the 4wd or 2wd position?

I don't think that the owner has ever moved it. He stated that there was no way to take the machine out of 4wd.

Maybe you could ask the owner who serviced his tractor. Then you know if he "tried" or he had someone who knew what to do. If it was someone else get in touch with them and find out any particulars about how often, or any difficulties the owner had.

I can't tell about the position of the 2/4 wheel drive handle. Call the owner, if it's too far to go see, and ask him if the handle is up or down. Lugbolt, gave a response to the required position in one of his post.

It appears to me that the handle is UP, in the 4W drive position.

Use the clutch when moving it up or down, and tractor at rest, not moving.

Something is not right. Look at the wear of paint on the floorboard...that is way more wear than couple hundred hours...

You say the tires are torn up...that paint has been worn...the 3 pt is jerky...hmmmm....

Unless this guy ran it in gravel or on ac alot...and had rock in his shoes alot...there is now way this all adds up.

My 4wd lever is a bit of an exercise to engage and disengage...but it should function....sometime i role the tractor a bit...slowly...play with clutch to get it to drop in and out...

Get someone who knows tractors to look at it and operate it...pay them if you need to...

Good luck.

Probably good news, the owner found a buyer for this tractor. I really like this model, but was uncomfortable with too many issues.
Learned a lot that I will carry with me to my future shopping adventures!
Thanks to all for the great information and your time.
