I have an L3902. The published weight I can find says it weighs 2921 lbs. But it is not clear in the chart what that weight includes. Does that weight include the LA526 FEL?

The 2921 does not include the loader, the loader adds roughly a 1000 pounds. Tire style can also change the weight.

I didn't think it did, but since the spec sheet shows loader lift capacities, it made me wonder. Seems that Kubota should make tractor weight easier to figure out.

I'm sure a lot of folks are in the same boat I'm in: A half ton truck so looking for the lightest trailer that can safely carry the tractor.

Are your tires loaded ? Your owners manual list the weight of the tractor, and the loader manual has the loader weight.

I don't have specs for the LA526, but here is the sheet for LA555, LA805, and LA1055

1749826962317.png

If you take the LA555, I would assume your loader will weigh around a 1,000lbs plus the bucket ~300lbs.so, if you tractor is ~3,000lbs, the loader and bucket about 1,3000lbs, you are looking at ~4,300lbs. Plus, then you have to consider do you have a rear implement on it, tires loaded, wheel weights, etc.

Yeah, with loaded tires and the backhoe installed I think my tractor is around 5800 to 6K pounds. So it seems a 10K trailer is my only option. Now just got to settle on a length.

there other options...
A 7K trailer( 2 x 3500# axles, with brakes) will haul 6,000 IF the trailer weighs 1000 pounds AND you can include 500# off the tongue that the truck carries.

Have used a 'car hauler' trailer(16') for 'max load' trips for decades.

Sure guys will 'flame me' on this but you do NOT need a 14k, 20' trailer to haul 3 tons.

I have a 16’ because I very rarely need it and I have about $500 in it. My L, which is a bit bigger than yours but not much, fits with loader and boxblade, but just barely. Loader and bush hog, the bush hog is hanging off far enough it needs a red flag (not ideal at all, but I’ve never hauled it with loader and bush hog). Suggest 20’ minimum.

If you set it up with the front and rear attachments that create the longest configuration, that should give you a pretty good idea of appropriate length. Also, it’s kind of nice to have the room to shift it forward and back a bit to adjust tongue weight.

A 10K trailer might not be enough depending on the weight of the trailer.

I hauled a L3800 with a FEL and implement for 10 years on a 18’ 7k lb trailer. I believe the trailer weighed 2100lbs. I now have upgraded tractors and trailers.

Never did weigh that tractor and implements though.

i haul my l6060 with fel bh92 backhoe and filled i have a 14k 20' trailer with beaver tail and that setup barely fits.

so length is an issue. i would take a tape measure to the dealer and also doible check your vehicle tow ratings

the published weight is of the tractor only. No tires, no wheels, no operator, no implements or attachments.

add to that:
loader
loader bucket
SSQA if you have it
tires/wheels
and any rear implements

and then you will have the weight

the dealer has all that information in the wholegoods manual online. Their listings are "shipping weight" which includes the crate, but it will get you close. Subtract about 250lb for the tractor's crate and about 100 lb for the loader's crate.

A tandem axle utility trailer is going to weigh at least 1500 lbs.

My 20 ft 10,000 lb capacity Lamar flatbed car trailer is 2300 lbs.
