Ok, maybe I am doing something dumb here- I am new to this machine, a Kubota B7200. I hooked up my bush hog, engaged the pto and let the clutch out- no prob mower works great- but when I go to disengage the pto, I push the clutch in, move the lever to the off position and rel the clutch the mower spins back up again- unless I shut the machine off and re-start it.... then it stays off... any ideas??

Does it have two ranges for the PTO? Are you going to far, past neutral? Probably not, but it's worth asking. Have you tried going forward past neutral into the higher range, then back into neutral?

Thanks for the reply Hodge... I dont think I am, I am going all the way to the stop... it is a 2 speed pto- the plate that locks out the higher speed is seized up (cant move it by hand) so I will lube it and free it up and try that... I did not mention that if I dont have the hog on the tractor, just spinning the pto alone and shutting it off it is fine... its like the load of the hog spinning down wont let the pto disengage..

Ok- I feel like a jerk... I just went out and messed with it, and I was throwing the lever all the way forward to the stop that supposed to block it from the higher setting- well I looked closer to find the stop and the tin it bolts to are bent ever so slightly.. which is letting me start it into the 825 setting... so sorry guys... I am glad it was a stupid thing...

Not at all stupid. You asked some questions and were able to find a solution. That sounds pretty smart to me.

Glad everything now works well.

Oh, they're out there. We could start a new subforum on goofs, stupid moves, oversights, etc.

What usually gets me into trouble is looking for the most complicated reason, instead of looking that the simple first. I always assume that the worst has happened. I had a vacuum problem on my Dodge truck, and assumed that the vacuum pump was needing a rebuild. I stopped, and decided to trace the vacuum lines, first. That is often a culprit, and the simplest/cheapest to fix. A vacuum line coming out of the axle disconnect had pulled loose.
I tend to overanalyze, and I guess it is to prepare for the worst. But, thank goodness, sometimes the solutions are simple! Glad that yours was!

Your question and solution has solved a mystery I've had since buying my tractor. I now know why the little tab covering the 825 PTO selector was welded in place on my B7200. Thank you!
