PTO shaft too long

Hello, I'm trying to connect a Woods finish mower to my B2401 but I'm about 2" too long. I've compressed the PTO shaft as far as it'll go but I'm still over shooting the PTO splines on the tractor by a couple inches. Any suggestions on how to get more distance/clearance?
