Pto clutch with HST L3800

Can someone explain to me the way I need to engage and disengage

The way I have always done it is with other tractors .

Engage is push the clutch at idle and put the pto in gear . Then idle up to pto rpm speed .

Disengage I idle down push the clutch and take the pto out of gear .

Is that the way I need to do it with the L3800HST .

Just wanted to double check .

Just found a thread over on TBN about somewhere have'n problems at some point with the pto over run stuff the cams running tillers . And it's got me worried sick .

Just want to make sure I was using the pto right on the HST .

Anyone I wonder over here have and problems with HST and running tillers ???

I have a half acre to till another reason I bought this tractor is because of the HST I could really creep slow to till . As my mf135 in low first is way to fast for tiller'n .

I hope I don't have the pto problem I read in that thread over there . Hope kubota has the problem fixed .

You are doin it right. Engage at low rpm with clutch in, then let clutch out and increase rpm.

I haven't heard of any pto/hst problems. But have heard complaints of lack
of power with hst and having to always keep the rpm up high?

I use a 6ft tiller with mine and haven't had any problems, I tilled a little over a half acre last year, although I did plow it first. You'll be able to go as slow as you want with the HST and that's the same way I engage the pto.

The only issue I had a couple of weeks ago with my L3800HST and 6' tiller was that I ran out of garden.
