Received info for summer fill and winter contract prices today.

Summer fill $1.49 gallon for a one time only fill up.

Contract option #1: Pay for all up front....$1.75.

Contract option #2" pay $0.25 gallon to lock in, but cost $1.85 gallon.
How big is you tank(s)?

I fill in the summer and usually good for a year. At some point/future needs I plan on getting a much larger tank.

I have a 500 gal. tank at the house and only use propane for furnace and 20KW generator. I'm always guessing on how much to contract for because there isn't any way to know the weather for heat needs or when power may be out and for how long.

I am never conservative in my estimates because I remember about 18-20 years ago I had to go to the local Co-Op to pay for propane for the church and the cost was a bit over $5 a gallon. It's easier to bite the bullet for a contact price, be locked it, and no get caught in the increases if they happen.

Got 32 gallons delivered today . I use very little propane after changing out gas dryer and water heater.
$6.49 a gallon . Plus a 12.99 dollar 'EnviroSafetyfee"
What size of tank do you use? Here they all have a minimum they will deliver without an extra charge, and it's usually 200 gal. min.

It is a 100 gallon tank. This delivery was a mistake. They updated the auto-delivery two years ago and they should not have come for at least another year or by phone call. It is a waste of the driver's time to drive out here for such a small fill.
When we had a gas dryer, gas water heater and the wife baking all the time our usage was much much higher.
I am sure that some secretary in the office will get blamed for the wasteful trip.

A 250, same here, they will not service until its below 20%. I can ask for a top off if other deliveries are in the area.

Odd story. Last week I called the co. I get propane from for the last few years. Gal there explained how the min. delivery is 200 gal. even for summer fill (price is$1.49). My tank was at 60 some % so I can't get the summer fill.

Next day I call back and was wanting their records of last years delivery to get estimates for this years contract volume. In this discussion was, once again, have to deliver 200 gal. for summer fill and that ends Sept. 15th.

I left to go to the farm and when I return my wife say there was an envelope in the door from a propane company. So I look at it and it's the same company I was just told hours ago no summer fill could be made with less then 200 gallons. The ticket was for 80 gallons at $1.49.

Must have had something to do with a blue moon?

What do you think it costs the propane company to delivery 32 gallons of product - besides the cost of the product
Did they NEED to make a special trip, just for THIS delivery?
