I have an electric pressure washer rated at 1500 lbs output with a nozzle that rotates and cannot be held in 1 spot. I'm considering using it to wash my tractor. I'd stay away from things like the radiator, alternator, starter etc. I'm fairly crippled up but think I can do this. I'd do this and then grease the tractor.

I would do it. That tip cleans about the best that i have seen. Start some distance away and move in til you find it cleans off the grine. It will take loose paint away. Mine is due for a bath too.

Oh yes! A pressure washer is a wonderful tool to have on hand, I use my 2300psi often. Cant beat it for those clumps of matted up grass clippings or those big blobs of mud that managed to get stuck to the rims and dust that has stuck to those seeping oil leaks, etc, etc.

As mentioned be aware that it can possibly take paint off in some places, and use caution around your decals and of course common sense places like those you mentioned - and instrument panel is another, but even with these cautions a pressure washer is GREAT!

I wouldn't use the swirl tip, I'd start with a regular tip, say 15 degrees. You'll have a lot more control with that tip moving in and out. The swirl tip is basically a solid straight tip that can damage a lot of sensitive things (paint, electrical, etc).

I personally don't think using a pressure washer on it is a good choice, too easy to force water where it shouldn't go.... Under paint, under decals, in the instrument panel, in seals, in gaskets.

Now some pressure washers have low pressure settings and tips for specifically washing and then it might be fine. :)

I good nozzle on a hose and a bug sprayer full of soap will usually do a safer job of getting the junk off of your tractor and equipment. :D

And as far as starter, and alternator, they really don't care about getting wet. ;)
