Power steering issue

I just purchased a used 3901DT with a new Ansung 2545 loader, on the test drive at the dealer everything was working fine. I hauled this tractor a couple hundred miles to my hunting property. So I don’t want to tow back. When I’m using the tractor the power steering comes and goes, and is worse when I’m brush hogging, I can always hear fluid running, I believe through the loader joy stick, almost like a leaky relief valve. Fluid level appears to be a little high. Any advice on where to start looking would be apprecaited.

I don’t know what is wrong with your steering but I have read many threads on here about similar issues. Search for hydraulic steering if you haven’t already. You may be able to use your tractor model and steering in a search to get more specific information.

But Kubota uses open center hydraulic systems so there is fluid flow through the valves at all times so don’t get confused about that.

Be advised that your machine has a tandem pump. This means two pumps back to back.

Also, slightly move your joysticks, make sure they are not in float mode. Your hydraulic system is open center with power beyond, if a valve (like the 3 point hitch) is slightly open... it will effect "up" stream hydraulics. Your valves are in series (one after another) and they all use the same stream of hydraulic power.

So if the 3ph thinks it's at it's max height but the feed back rod isn't adjusted correctly, the 3 point hitch's hydraulics could be "open" a little, affecting the power steering...
