Post hole digger for BX

Does anybody have a post hole digger for their BX? I am looking into getting one of these this spring. Looking at the Land Pride PD10.
I am putting some grape vines in and, of course, need to put some posts in. Plus the wife and I are planning to put in a couple hundred white pines in the next couple of years. I figured that would be enough work to justify buying one of these.
I was just curious what anybody here thought abought how it works on their BX. If there is anything specific I may need to take into consideration.
Any input would be appreciated.

I just looked at the Landpride PD10 and it should work just fine behind you're BX. Landpride makes alot of their attachments with Kubota tractors in mind. I have a B6100 and have used a normal size post hole digger behind mine several times with no problem. A few manufacturers make different size posthole diggers and Landpride makes a smaller attachments suited just for subcompact tractors. A tip I learned the hard way several times is be careful what you drill around. I hit something in the ground deep one time and whatever it was stalled out the tractor and I could not life the boom back up to save my life. I stood there for like 45mins backing the posthole digger out back wards with a pipe wrench. That was a nightmare.

I have a BX2360 and also am planting grapes. I purchased my phd from everythingattachments.com, I can't I think it is a leinbach jr phd. I put in at least 70 holes in the fall and it worked flawlessly. My only bad feeling is the cutting head. If you are digging in sod you will have problems starting the hole, once the cutting edge gets covered with sod it is done, get off the tractor and clean it of, dig a starter hole with a shovel and it works perfect. Price was great, shipping was free, would have also been nice to have two people to assemble it but I did it by myself in about an hour due to running all over the property to find the right tools.

I have my personal pro's and con's about sod. It's great for what I call a lawn in an afternoon or an instalawn. What makes sod difficult to work with is it's produced with a thin layer of plastic in the dirt to help hold it all together so it can be harvested, stacked, palleted, trucked and then sold and installed.

I'm not advocating the site as I have never purchased anything form them but I just think the vids are cool.

This spring the wife and I are going to get a post hole auger for our BX. We need to put in about 600 ft of fence, and although I've used a clamshell digger a lot around here, I'm too lazy for 600 feet of it. We are also going to plant some trees, and apparently something called a Stuewe pot shapes a tree's root mass to fit into a 6" augered hole. It'll be interesting to see once we get into it.

We were pretty much set on a Land Pride PD10 w/6" bit, but I noticed that a semi-local farm supply outfit sells Speeco implements and they have a Speeco unit with 6" bit for about 2/3 the price of the Land Pride unit. Does anyone know where Speeco units are made and how easy it is to get parts? How well would a Speeco unit fit a BX vs. a Land Pride? I know I can get warranty/parts/info on Land Pride, they're built in North America, and they have a good reputation (plus I think they are available in my favorite color of orange . . .).

Any other brands that others have had good results with that is available in Western Canada?

Oh brother, that's NOT lazy!

You have 600 feet of fencing to do. Just running ROUGH numbers here. If you placed a post every ten feet that's 60 posts.

Now if you were very good with those manual post hole diggers and dug each one at 15 minutes and never stopped you would be at it for 15 hours! 15 minuets at 60 posts = 900 minuets -or- 15 hours. Now that's a lot of digging

I would say the auger is a VERY wise investment that you are making

I will have to check out Speeco. I never heard of them. But I will investigate!

And 600' with a hand auger is wayyyyyy to much manual labor
