They exist, seems like I read a review by a trucker trying one out about a year ago. Up side much easier to drive in LA traffic, had about enough charge, 6 to 8 hrs, to make one round trip to port and back to their warehouse. Down side obviously not enough charge for long trips. I don't remember the recharge time.

Another one of those "useful for some people" things. But not impossible to start introducing. Seems like a company could distribute their trucks across the country so a trucker could switch the trailer to a fully charged one and leave the other to be recharged for the next load. A la pony express.
Now........THAT sounds like REALLY EFFICIENT!
The Pony Express was terminated in 1861.

It is neither conservatives or liberals who are pushing covid safety. It’s educated people who’s profession is public health. Imagine if the smallpox, polio, or measles vaccines were considered to be political back in the 1950s: we would still be fighting those diseases. People were smarter back then.
Educated people. That is funny. Half the doctors are not taking it and a lot of the nurses. I play poker regularly with two doctors and neither one of them will take it. One is a surgeon and the other is a GP. I have heard hundreds of hours of stories by them both over the years and they are both very smart and very well educated. They both agree if you could sue phizer for the deaths/diseases and lasting side effects, it would stop being sold immediately. They are seeing the side effects first hand. I will tell them next week though that a guy on the tractor forum does not think they are educated - SMH.

BS. Almost every hospitalized Covid patient is unvaccinated. And very few vaccinated people are in the hospital or dying of Covid. Facts are facts.

Your fake numbers, I hear them all the time. Or you live in one of the most unhealthy places in the country. You probably think the doctors I hang out with are morons with BS numbers too. I'll be sure to let them know the guy on the internet tractor chat forum says they are all BS. How is the view from way up there on your high horse?

Our local news station ran the numbers in every hospital in the state the other day. The numbers were almost 60/40 in every facility. NOT A SINGLE ONE matched the 90% you hear from CNN.

You don't hear how many have been hospitalized after getting the vax either, or are you thinking that doesn't happen. They also add to the load according to the doctors I know that actually work in a hospital helping patients.

Touche' to your last point. And very few un-vaccinated people are in the hospital or dying of Covid. Facts are facts. - There is actually THOUSANDS of EACH in the hospitals right now.

Nonsense. Your post is mostly fake news. There are few unvaccinated Covid patients in the hospitals. And I think that you are fabricating fantasy doctors. There are very few medical professionals saying what you are saying.

Well I play poker with them every week all year long for going on 2 decades with one of them now and over 10 years with the other.

My wife is a nurse that over the last 20 years has worked in every hospital department there is, I don't live in a vacuum.

My numbers come right out of the newspaper. EVER hospital in the state was listed.

There are plenty of doctors with the same opinion, get your head oput of the sand and look around, I think you have a very circular information source. Even media protected youtube has a ton of doctors on there talking about the complications, go see.

I don't really care what you think, it is obvious you think you know everything and anyone that doesn't agree with you are "uneducated" ROFLMAO.

I think Geohorn's point "again" is that if a Dr doesn't follow the narrative he believes, the Dr has to be stupid. It's impossible to have a different opinion than the collective and be right. We are Borg. :D

While I'm at it, 100% of the diesels that aren't designed to use DEF will never be limited by the DEF supply. That's a fact. ;)

Science isn’t supposed to be based on “opinions.” It is ok to have a working hypothesis, but at one point the hypothesis becomes fact. People are entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts. And hospitals have reported that over 95% of Covid patients are unvaccinated. And this is pretty consistent nationally. Facts, not opinions.

Well, I have been reading to see what I can find out and I'm a little confused.

First, the shortage seems to be hitting just Australia and Korea. India seems to be having some issues also, but not sure why.

The US production seems to be slightly down because of the hurricane season damage and planned plant outages for repairs and upgrade.

Yet, reading it appears that China uses just about all the urea they make and only export a small percentage of their urea.

Australia seems to be having an issue because their own plants that make it can't find a reliable source of gas to be able to make it. Which looks like Australia has NG, but it may be a regulatory issue.

Meanwhile, DEF sensors keep being reported as shortage on them and manufactures are supposed to be working on 'temp' fixes to keep equipment going till the whole crises passes.

So, from the best I can tell, because natural gas prices are high, urea and many other products are going to be high through the winter months.

I read up on how many tons of urea the US makes and if my understanding is correct we are the sixth largest producer of it. Yet, I don't believe that includes all types of nitrogen based fertilizer.

Anyway, after reading way more than I wanted to, I'm back to watching YouTube and still can't tell you 100% for sure that we are actually going to see a shortage here. Higher prices yes, shortage, I don't know.

DEF has a shelf-life right? I wonder if the shortage if there is one will be cleared before the DEF gets old.

Fwiw, my diesels don't use DEF. My truck is too old, and my other diesel is a L2501 which doesn't even have a DPF.

Shelf Life

  • Like many petroleum products, DEF has a shelf life. DEF can usually be stored for a year without contamination.
Storage

  • Proper storage will increase DEF shelf life. DEF must be stores in ISO-approved containers made from composite materials. Remember, DEF is corrosive to aluminum. Containers made from stainless steel and polypropylene are good options. Make sure all DEF containers are correctly labeled and dated.
Temperature

  • DEF isn’t harmed by freezing temps. Because it’s 2/3 water, it can freeze without harm to the product. Keep in mind it will expand when frozen so avoid overfilling containers.
  • In contrast, heat and sun can both cause DEF to degrade.
  • The best temp to store DEF is around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind that prolonged exposure to sun can harm DEF’s composition so keep DEF stored indoors or in a well-shaded area.
