Well the quest continues. No dice on getting the Ford 1600, dude did not bother to tell me he had it for sale on Ebay. Soo back to the drawing board and would love to stick with Kubota. We shall see...

Too bad but I always like to think that things work for the best and you will get something better soon.

I really really really want to stick with Kubota, but when your working on a budget and new isn't an option its hard. I've been following the tractor market for as long as I can remember and Kubota's are brining in top dollar for used with a loader. I've been looking at older Kubota iron in the early L series and nothing with a loader is under 8k

You know, the reality is that horsepower is horsepower no matter the color. They all have their quirks and issues as evidenced on this forum.
Eric, what ever you find that will do the job for the right price... go for it! I was a pretty diehard red guy growing up, still am, would love to have a nice 55-60 HP IH of some sort. But I couldn't pass up the price I paid for my M4500 (a net price of about $1,700), and even though it is orange it does the job for me.
Ford has made some pretty dependable stuff over the years and dealers (New Holland) still service all the older tractors. Be hard to go wrong with a bigger tractor, even if just slightly so. I don't have 4-wd either, a few times that it would be nice, but for a tractor that mostly makes hay I'm glad more often than not that I don't have to bother with the extra maint and tire cost.
Budget has always been my obstacle too.

What makes me leery straying away from Kubota and going with Ford is once upon a time I used to drive trucks for the local Ford dealership and I really didn't like the way they handled things in the shop. A ton of shady mechanics that just wanted to put a band aide over the booboo and not really fix the problem. And a whole lot of other shady things went down in the shop that I did not want to be apart of so I was happy to be gone on the road and away from the shop.

You need to start looking at red and blue tractors!!!! This orange stuff costs money and no one wants to sell them after they buy em'.

I DO have an L4400 you can have for $15,000.

Kubotas are keepers!

we have a fairly large farming operation (300 plus cows 1000 + or - acres) my great grand father came to this area in 1900 so my family has seen the full evolution of tractors and here is my two cents. Just in my lifetime we have used all of the domestic brands they all have problems some more than others. To us our tractor of choice is determined by two factors price and service. As the years go on things like dealership ownership change have been enough to get the next tractor somewhere different. If the iron dose the job and the price is good go for it. I love my little Kubota and the dealership here is great but price prompted me to buy it. As well as you know Eric you can love orange but have to drive blue ,green ,red etc..

I guess maybe its time to kick plan B into gear. I can't seem to sell the tractor and I'm getting busy and steady using it. I'll have to save up some cash and look into getting a loader for the B6100. That would help make life a little easier and less painful on my back shoveling into the back of my pickup. Then maybe work towards a bigger one with a loader.

Well so far no dice! I guess it just isn't in the cards to sell my tractor and find something bigger. The quest continues!

Come to think about it I guess I really should keep my tractor or stick with the Kubota brand. Otherwise I wasted over 200 bucks on work shirts for nothing...
