Buy a membership and that won't be an issue.
Someone has to pay for all of this to happen. ;)

I completely agree, the ads on this site are actually obscene.

I’m all for a business model that is self sustaining, but the complete saturation of ads here is a level all on its own.

As a Lifetime Member I see no ads. I also use an Ad Block.

I have a hangup on paying for forum access. I don’t mind dealing with some ads as a result of that hang up, but this site is easily double compared to any other message board that I frequent.

I love coons, as long as they aren’t on my property. Little bastards.

Hey everyone - I'm not a big fan of ads either and I agree, we have a lot going on here. Ads have been around since the beginning of the internet, right from day zero. I wish there was a better way to offset server and hosting costs for the site, but... haven't figured that out. Memberships do help and it's just $60 to make ads go away forever, while also supporting the site to keep it available for everyone - a foundational mission of why this all started.

I'd like to think that we've been at least partially successful at building OTT into every Kubota owner's resource for helpful advice and guidance when it comes to servicing or operating their equipment. A place you can count on knowing that other like-minded people with experience will help you out, just as they've been helped out on prior occasion.

If you've visited the site and haven't found it helpful or valuable, then I could see why paying to support would be hard to overcome. Drop me a DM me know what we'd need to change to make it more valuable to you. On the other hand, if you are getting help and value from OTT and it's getting you unblocked, then one thing I would ask you to consider is how many times elsewhere in your life have you paid (potentially a lot more than $60 once) to get help from experts like your mechanic, plumber, electrician, guy who built your deck, doctor, dentist or Kubota dealer?

Zero pressure. OTT has always been available for free and will remain so. As others have pointed out, it's also entirely possible to download ad blockers and go from there (hopefully too many people don't do that though since servers aren't cheap!). As always, thank you all for visiting and for helping each other out to make OTT awesome!

OTT is great, and I do find value in the site.

I also find value in many forums, of which I don’t pay for access or ad reduction. It’s what makes forums great.

I also am not bombarded with 2-5 ads per page, along with a pop-up ad on a high percentage of clicks on any other forum. I’m not going to pretend to understand the specifics of any site, but I am going to note that the ad traffic here is firmly double any other online forum I am a part of.

Will I abstain from using the site because of it? Probably not.

Will I bitch about it? Absolutely. It’s human nature.

Try a different browser like Duck Duck Go. It works wonders on this site.

I agree 100% that the web sites have to be paid for and typically this would be done by advertising.

But I think what Trash Panda is referring to is the sheer amount of really obstructive advertising.

I saw that once, possibly due to a software glitch, and it was a very frustrating experience. Multiple pop-ups that cover content with every mouse click. It fixed itself after a day, but if I would have to click away 2-5 pop-up ads after each page change I would not be here any more.

Maybe the amount of advertising is browser dependent, I do not know that, but I think it is worth checking, because I think it is likely that it turns away people from Orange Tractor Talks. And I do not believe that this is what the operators of this excellent web site and forum want.
