Plate Compactor for Compact Tractor?

I have a little $500 walk-behind plate compactor. I was wondering if anything is available for compact tractors (like a B2601). Searched around for a minute and didn't really find much. Then I also pondered connecting my gas walk-behind to the tractor somehow (on the 3ph perhaps), though I'd rather have something bigger.

Thoughts/ideas?

You can get small backhoe and SSQA hydraulic hammers and compactor plates. They're hard on a small tractor. And pricey.

hmm... I'd mount on the front, loader, use in 'float' position. Heck at $500 a pop, buy 2 more, run all there up front !!

No joke, that's what the few options I came across looked like:

It might not be a terrible idea. $1500 in gas plate compactors and $2-300 more to build something with an ssqa or 3ph mount. Always dealing with 3 more engines though...

How big of an area are you tying to compact?

3 more enigines isn't a big deal...use hitest(no ethonal), stabilizer and they'll last a long, long time. Just be sure to clean the air filters ! If they're mounted right, you can rent/loan them out to friends and family and neighbours as someone always needs one for a 'weekend'......so expect that one back in 2 weeks.... ;)

Driveways - small enough that my walk-behind is fine for a project here and there. Having something tractor-mounted would surely make me want to use it more, and for projects where I normally wouldn't care to bother with my small compactor. Compactors sure do leave a nice finish.

The vibratory roller link above is a skid steer item and is not for a tractor due to weight and hydraulic flow. This is one of those jobs that’s not for your compact tractor, keep using your small machine or if a big project find someone with something more suitable. I have an old Case 450 dozer that is 14,000 lbs it does a great compaction job.

This is a repurposed tool that would be helpful on a driveway. At 600 plus pounds it should give you a nice base.

it'd be ok for the first few runs...to get the driveway 'flat' but you need the vibratory compactor to truly 'firm up' and pack the base. I was taught to lay 4" of base material then pack, repeat as required. Most driveways, esp. interlocking, fail as the builder doesn't compact long enough. A section of my driveway (10x50) is interlock. I spent 15-20 minutes per 'lift'( 5 or 6 of them..) and it's been fine since 2014, even with driving the 7,000# forklift on it often...

I'm struggling to see how that would be helpful. I'm wanting to compact road-base type gravel (gravel down to dust). Vibratory plate compactors put thousands of pounds of force down and vibrate everything into a really solid mass.
