Piranha Tooth Bar Safety Guard

Just got my tooth bar from BXpanded. So far do good, After reading all of the posts about various body parts snagged on Piranhas, I decided to make a safety guard as a preemptive measure. Since I tend to keep bits & pieces around, I had a short section of corrugated drain tile lying around. Slit it lengthwise and it slips snugly over the sharp edges when I'm parking it in the barn.

I find that if I place the bucket down and curl it up a bit ........... my shins remind me to never park it that way again!

Hmmm. Some good ideas. I have one, but hadn't thought of a protector like that. I tend to park it with the bucket pointing down, so the Piranha isn't a danger.

But there's probably a reason I shouldn't do that.....

I always set it flat against the concrete floor so when I or my dog walks by there's no chance of snagging a sharp edge. But that is a good safe guard!

I do the same. My piranha toothbar works the same as when it was new and has suffered no ill effects.

Nice ideas but it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist (for me). Can see where it would be good when someone is loading the bucket with firewood, trash or debris. However, I have two identical buckets. One without so I use it for those types of things.

Have the same tooth bar and it rocks. Always lay it flat on the ground when not in the seat. (-;

My tractor spends time in and out of the garage. When ever I park it I roll the bucket down a bit then lower it to the ground. This way if outside no water sits in the bucket, or if in the garage I don't walk into it.

That could also double as a driveway protector for snow removal. The guy that clears my parents driveway puts one on his track loader every winter. I thought it was genius. I think he used 2" and notched for the teeth. Never a scrape on their asphalt.

There's a guy on YouTube who shows that, not on a bucket, just on his front mounted snowblower. Keeps it from picking up gravel.

They come in adjustable lengths..

My bucket doesn't have teeth, and if it did, they would be plastic held in with
Dental Adhesive i.e. Polident

IMO a solution in search of a problem. Pointy sharpy things should be on the ground to avoid injuries.
