Had the honor of meeting Jason Redman, a medically retired SEAL a few years ago. He was one of the participants in the Pineapple Express mission. He medically retired due to getting caught in an ambush and being on the receiving end of an Afghan machine gun. When I met him he went everywhere with a service dog, his wife, and a cane. Impressive gentleman, nonetheless. I was quite amazed he was physically capable of participating in another mission.

Good article. If I read correctly, some ex special forces were brought out of retirement unofficially. Sounds like Rambo.

Quite confident we have active duty personnel who are capable (I know a handful who I strongly suspect are capable) but active duty personnel need someone above them with the fortitude and commitment to be willing to give the order. The guys that executed the mission just needed a modicum of cooperation from active duty troops guarding the airport perimeter and needed active duty troops to look the other way briefly to allow them to work. The personnel executing the mission clearly had a strong belief in the “leave no one behind” creed and couldn’t sit in their comfortable homes while people, American or Afghan, they fought side by side with were left behind to be systematically murdered by the new regime. I believe that was the point of Captain Redman’s comment in the article I posted saying he was deeply frustrated that the American government didn’t do this, which strongly implies he believes they could have. He knows far more about American special forces’ capabilities than I ever will so if he believes the American government could have done it, I suspect he is correct.

I totally agree with you. The woke "leaders" of the armed forces are sickening.
