Pickup truck loader (AKA boom pole)

I’m lazy. Rigging four straps vs sliding the forks underneath, I’ll go with sliding the forks underneath.

Or, spread the forks and pick up the mower like a pallet. Put a ratchet strap on it too if things are going to be less than smooth.

First pic is the boom pole I built for the old Ford. Material is 2" Sch40 steel pipe with some reinforcement. The Ford never had a loader, so the BP allowed handling heavy things. Well, as long as the front of the tractor didn't come off the ground. In this pic I was using it to lift and drag a homebrew landplane with the B7500.

Next pic is how I put the 91" Caroni deck on sawhorses for rehab. Wasn't concerned about the paint because it was getting refurbed.

Bottom pic is how I grab mower decks it to put them on the shelf in the shed for Winter. It's a testament to the strength of the slotted angle on the top of the bucket.

I admit

Rope on each end of the deck, tied to the relative side of the tractor.

Be careful
I'd advise no one standing near. No offense, thats a risky contraption.

It's more risky than I thought it would be. Will take your advice and be cautious.

I have to admit, when I saw the title I thought someone had installed a front end loader on a pickup truck.

That sounds like it could be a fun project.
