If my measurements are correct, the tractor and bush hog will have about 2" of clearance when I fold up the tailgate on the 16' trailer. I'll have to lay the loader up on the headrest like in the pictures and fold up the tail wheel on the mower to do it, but that seems pretty easy.
The loader in the air like that would make me a little uneasy especially considering the grapple weighs a good 500lbs or more. The loader arms are equally as heavy.

Consider modifying the trailer so that the bush hog wheel goes over your front box. Did you get your tires filled? Not sure if you have brakes on the trailer, but keep your total weight in mind if not.

2,700lbs - 3800
700lbs - Loaded R4s
800lbs - FEL
500lbs - Grapple
620lbs - RCR2060
= 5,300+ Pounds PLUS the weight of the trailer.

Nice setup, congratulations!

I'm working in sandy soil in Central Florida and R4s have been fine.

Which canopy did you get?

You'll be fine loading it like that, as long as you set the loader down on the front rack to take the strain off the hydraulics.
Also looks like your towing it with a 1 ton dually, so no problem there either!;)

I like my new l3200 (same tractor, 6 less HP). You absolutely need at least 500lbs on the back. I always keep my 550lbs box blade there. It was pretty "exciting" trying to pull fence posts with a 200lbs post hole digger on the back, but I was expecting things & went really slow so I could stop as soon as rear tires started lifting.

I'm planning on loading the rears soon, New dealer just got the fluid & pumps for it.

My R4s were doing fine for traction digging out the back of my barn. However the side where the water from the roof drains is proving a little more challenging. Loading the tires will help a bit though. As the R4s tear up my yard a bit, I think they ended up being a good compromise between traction of R1s & not completely destroying my yard.

Fallon,
Thanks for that post. We talked alot about which tires to get and really thought just what you said, that they would do less damage to the yard but still give good performance. We're not plowing here where we are but there is no manicured yard either.

The dealer loaded them and they are larger than the ag tires, so there is a little bit more weight back there. I am glad to hear that someone who has had them awhile is still happy with them.

Yeah, the loader up there was a compromise. I painted and bolted a treated 2x4 to the top of the rail to soften the travel impacts/rubbing,

Thanks for those accurate weights there. I was guessing at the loaded R4 weight and estimated 5,700 lbs with the 25 gallon diesel drum on board also. The trailer is rated for 7,000 lbs so I,m getting pretty close

The dealer recommended an aftermarket aluminum diamond plate canopy. I really did not like the fiberglass Kubota canopy because of all the land clearing i plan to do. I was afraid I would break the fiberglass.

I think that's a good call. I started to do something fancy, then decided to practice running into things with 3/4" plywood instead. Once it becomes second nature to watch where the canopy is going, too, I'd like to switch over to metal. Can you tell me what thickness your diamond plate is?
