Spent the weekend in Branson for my sons birthday. A couple shots of the Table Rock dam and lake. He had a blast in the chopper.

Table Rock is one of the prettiest lakes I've been to in my life. Have fished it and Taneycomo a bunch of times and it's always a blast. I live not real far from there, closer to greer's ferry (in arkansas) though and because I'm so close to Greer's, I'm on it all the time. Crappie season is fixing to end for me, so that means winter's coming. I can't fish in winter, fingers get too cold too quickly, so winter's shop work time (heater core in the Mustang among many other projects). My crappie season runs from may til about late september, usually fishing in 40-80 foot of water over submerged trees, freezer is FULL currently.

what's really neat about deep lakes is the tailwater areas, and the rivers. The water that comes out of the bottom of the dam for generation is ice cold, and makes for great trout fishing here. That's actually one of my "hobbies"--I am an unprofessional fishing guide (have license but do not do it for the money) and enjoy taking people to see a water body that is absolutely amazing on a warm summer day. It's really neat. Meet the person or group at the top of the ramp, it's 80 degrees at 0600. Walk 100 foot down to the water, through the thick fog, and it's 65 degrees. Get a breeze and it raises the chill bumps when the rest of the body is accustomed to warm weather. People that have never experienced it just rave about it. Have had the wonderful opportunity to take some great folks to experience it, of all kinds. Mentally challenged folks to normal working folks to executives, famous and not. 2 weekends ago took the news anchor (the new one, moved here from central Florida) who had no idea what to expect. Absolutely LOVED the scenery, fellowship, wildlife, everything. I have not seen someone as high strung as her be so relaxed in my life; I mean she was one who didn't care if she caught anything or not so long as she's out on the water enjoying the beauty. About the time we came around the bend, with the mountain poking up above the trees directly in front of the boat, an eagle swooped out of a tree and caught a little rainbow trout not 20 foot beside the boat. Mind you a city girl's seen it on TV a bunch of times but to see it in person NEVER gets old.

She is saying that she wants to get the news camera crew out there next time. I'm not that interested.

Never been in a running helicopter, done a lot of simulator stuff. Still don't feel comfortable with them. Worked on a couple (or helped)--interesting machines, with a lot of physics knowledge that goes into the design of the aircraft. I'd rather fly fixed wing.
