I have a 2023 Kubota LX3310. I usually have a regen around every 25 hrs and am at approximately 23. I have some work to to do on the tractor and would like to avoid the regen during this time. I tried doing regen in park and although the button lit up, it did not initiate. I know I can cancel it if it should automatically go into regen, but I prefer not to. Does anyone know if a regeneration can be initiated before it t does automatically? Really starting to miss my 2003 B7800 - no emissions!

I'm not aware of any way to preempt a regen, but obviously, how you use the tractor affects how often the ECU triggers a regen. Gear drive tractors are more of a challenge with regards to regens since ground speed and engine speed are directly related. That's been my experience with both MX tractors and the M6060.

But don't despair. There are some really good solutions out there for those who don't like all of the emissions stuff on Tier 4 tractors. Some will say that they don't want to void their emissions warranty. But if you don't have DPF and EGR any more, how likely is it that you'll need to use the emisssions warranty? One option is to buy a 25hp or less tractor, add a turbo (which voids your warranty) and still end up with a small tractor. 😂 Another option is to spend about the same amount of money and end up with a much bigger and more capable tractor that comes with a factory turbo. Hmmm .... which way to go?

Prior to downsizing and selling nearly all of my equipment, I had adopted the policy of hitting the Inhibit button 15 or 20 minutes prior to finishing a task to avoid the annoying occurrence of a regen operation starting on the way back to the barn.

There are almost zero diesels that allow consumers to force a regen on vehicles or tractors. I'd say zero, but maybe there are one or two.

Frankly, I think that's the biggest issue with the diesel emission systems. Well, and that the software that decides when to regen is generally pretty inconsistent. Some people have zero issues, but if you do, it's a nightmare.

Why is a regeneration when you’re working a problem? I just keep on doing what work I’m doing while the regeneration occurs.

Of course, the issue is what if you have 15 seconds left of work to do when the light comes on ...

That happens maybe once or twice a year. It actually happened to me today while putting the tractor into the barn. I just raised the throttle and took another round grading the road until it was done.

Press the regeneration inhibit button then shut off the tractor if you don't want to do the regen at that time. The next time you start the tractor it will be in auto regeneration mode but at PM warning level 2-1, so you follow the same procedure for PM warning level 1 or parked regeneration.

Just happened to me. Damn thing started to regen just as I was headed for the shop. Drove over to the house instead and left it running while I made a cup of coffee and had "just a few" of the Thanksgiving chocolate chip cookies I made earlier in the day. Regen was complete by the time I was done with my snack. I put the tractor away and came back to the house to start on a couple apple pies that probably wont make it to Thursday. This damn regen insanity has completly disrupted my life o_O

There's another option with regens and that's to shut the tractor off as the regen light is flashing. The next time you start the tractor you'll have the chance to complete the regen. I did this on my first MX6000 with no issues at all. I will admit that I've never pushed the regeneration inhibit button but it's still an option.

Someone has to tell the other side of the story.
The other side of the story is that 25hp is the maximum that can be bought without DPF. I like the power of my 60 hp turbo diesel engine and a few inconvenient 15 minute regeneration cycles a year is more than worth the hp.

I must be living right because all of my regens have occurred either snow blowing or mowing, and I just carry on enjoying the day. I believe most, not all, but most regen problems on this site involve folks who don't really understand the process, and Kubota is somewhat to blame with unclear instructions with the wording they use. Not saying this is the case with the OP.

Bingo.

This is why I hit the Inhibit button 15 or 20 minutes prior to finishing a task and heading to the barn.
