Wife wanted to build a duck pond for the daughter/grand kids. So after prep work it was time to put the concrete in.

She saw some video on YouTube that build one without a form, and that was the approach. It did mean that I got to mix 26 bags of concrete and shovel where she could place it.

If you do the math, that's a lot of weight to move even with 60lb bags. So, wife bought it on a pallet and brought it home. I moved about half to another pallet.

After that, it was lifting the pallets higher than the wheel barrel used for mixing. That allowed me to barely lift up and and drop into the wheel barrel. No carrying required.

The only issue was leak down. So over time, I had to restart the tractor and lift the pallet back up.

Hopefully, the concrete sets up nice, and there will be a nice duck pond.

Yep. … Pallet Forks are just mandatory for a FEL.… and those “clamp on the bucket” types are NOT.

It's hard to put a number on how useful forks are, but its right up there at the top of my list.

The clamp on type have their place and work well when they are needed. I use them on machines where the buckets are pinned on.

They are better than no forks whether they clamp on or attach to hooks on the bucket.

My pallet forks live on the tractor. Only used my bucket 2 or 3 times in 3 years.

While I waited for my real PF's to arrive (backorder) I saw the use for SOMETHING and strapped 2 pipes up under my FEL's bucket and made my own pseudo forks.

WOW! How useful are these? Jobs that would take me an hour of huffing and puffing by hand were done in 5 or 10 mins and then I was looking for more stuff to move around.

I guess it doesn't need to be said, but when the REAL forks arrived it was better than trying to use ESP to look "through" a bucket, lol and outside of winter snowblowing are likely used the most of any implement.

Let's hear it for forks ! hip hip hurrah!

(OK, got a little carried away in the moment.....I'll go sit in the corner now)

Thanks for your contribution to the thread. It added a lot. ;)
Yup.......proper terminology, proper spelling, proper punctuation, etc., are all from a bygone generation.

Pallet forks are one of the best attachments you can purchase. For only $500.00 I got a set from Titan with a 3,000 pound lift capacity. Picked up fallen trees and wall from a shed that was being demolished. Loaded up a dumpster with it. One drawback is you have to stand up to see the tips of the forks unlike a forklift.

These heavy duty debris were built for multi purpose use. The outside set are far enough apart that the inside set can still be used to slide into a pallet for the normal duty of moving stuff around.
