Im looking for a ssqa pallet fork set for my MX4800 with LA1060 loader. there are so many choices online for pallet forks that I have started to loose track of all the makers.

my loader capacity is just over 2000 lbs so I don’t need heavy forks but I don’t want to bend them during normal use either.

any recommendations on what I should look at?

Thx

I have been happy with my Tar River forks, 2000 lb rating, 42" forks, around $800. a year ago. Good Luck.

I have 4000# rated 48” forks for my MX6000, not because my lA1065 loader is capable of lifting that much, but because they are stouter built for not much more money. Ok, also because that’s what the dealer had in stock when I bought my tractor..

Check around at your local rental equipment providers, they sometimes sell their old equipment for good prices.

Land Pride PFL2042 would be a good match for you.

I have been using these forks for a few years. I was concerned that the 2k rated forks would be damaged if I used them for hauling logs. These are overkill but they were priced $100 more than the 2k forks and weigh about 75lbs more.

2k forks won't bend unless you abuse them..you CAN bend 5k forks when abused..BTDT.
check locals with forklifts...once 'out of spec' they get tossed into scrap bin. so far I've got 3 sets !
While 'over forking' could be 'ok', them suckers are heavy so watch your toes when handling them !!!!
Also heavier forks reduce capacity, might need to consider that ?

How do forks get “out of spec?”

'someone' lifts 'something' frigging HEAVY with just ONE fork and it bends so now the two forks aren't the same height off the ground. The 'spec' may say 'within 1 inch'. If the damaged fork is 1.25" less than the other...oopsy..gotta buy new forks . About every 5 years I get a set....

I have US made 48” 4,000lb ratted forks and frame on my MX, look for UA brand or see Titan attachments USAmade.
Forks are my most used FEL attachment, don’t buy cheap or light rated forks, a good purchase will last a lifetime.

I use 48” on my MX5400.
The shorter the forks the harder it is to see the tips from the seat. If I position myself just right I can see the tips while sitting down but to make things easier I bypassed the seat safety switch. Now I can stand up to get a better view and am able to move forward or backward to align the forks without the tractor shutting down.

Good day.

I am not sure this helps or not…

I have 42” on my B which is nice that they don’t stick out so you can crowd a barn / building without poking the barn.

For MX, I have 48” which I think is better if want to grab a heavy pallet, I think it better to have the fork to stick thru so no tipping. (I would not want a smaller fork than 48”). If you plan to use larger pallets a lot, maybe extensions or longer forks would make sense. That being said as mentioned above tires are in the way to see much. I have thought about extensions, but I think a camera might be a better solution for the visibility.
